How do I lock a document?

Sometimes you to focus to write a good manuscript. Lock your document exclusively. Other team members will then not be able to open this document.

Lock document

To lock a document, you need “Read/Write” or “Admin” rights.

  1. Open the document’s context menu.
  2. Select the “Lock Document” option.
  3. Confirm lock by clicking “Ok”.

As soon as the document has been locked, a small green “lock” icon appears to the left of the document title in the project overview. For the other team members, an orange icon will appear at this point. In addition, information such as “Last Update” is hidden.

Attention! Now no one can get in except you - not even the owner of the project. So don’t forget to unlock the document when you’re done!

Unlock document

As soon as you have finished your work, you can share the document with everyone again.

  1. Open the document’s context menu
  2. Select the “Unlock Document” option.
  3. Confirm unlock by clicking “Ok”.
