How can I share my project?

Using the “Shared Links” plugin, it is possible to temporarily share a project with someone who does not have their own Frazier account. Please contact support to activate the plugin.

With a shared link, a single project can be opened in read-only mode. Existing descriptions cannot be edited. However, comments can be left. This allows you to easily collect feedback from your client or let someone do a review without messing around with your texts…

Once the plugin is activated, a new “Shared Links” section will appear in your project overview.

  1. Click “New Shared Link”
  2. Enter a name in the “Guest” field. This name will appear later in the comments section. You can also enter a general description such as “Review” here if you want to keep access anonymous.
  3. Choose a “One-Time Password”. This only works for this link in the current project.
  4. Choose a duration by selecting a date from the “Valid Until” select box.
  5. Click on “Create”.

After creating the shared link, you will be redirected to an overview with the generated URL and the chosen password. Save both pieces of information on your computer.

Please note that we are currently unable to send emails from the system to people we do not know. We may add this in the future (after legal clarification). For now, please take care of sharing the data yourself.

You can now log in to your project using the shared link and the associated password. You can easily test this yourself:

  1. Open the link in a private browser window.
  2. You will be taken to the login form.
  3. Enter the one-time password and confirm the terms of use.
  4. Click “Login”.

Project overview

After logging in, the project overview will appear. Only documents are visible, but no other information about the project (team members; generated files etc.). In addition, all documents that you have marked as “locked” are hidden.

The project overview also shows how long the shared link is available. Once it expires, documents can no longer be opened in the editor. However, you can extend the period if necessary (see below).

Open a document

Click on the title of a document to open the editor. This will load the document in read-only mode. Start video playback and hear the original audio along with the description read aloud as usual.

Comments

Descriptions cannot be edited in read-only mode. However, comments can be created. The name specified for the shared link will be displayed accordingly for the created comments. As in normal read-only mode for team members, it is possible to export comments as a DOCX file for approvals.

Click “Edit” in the context menu for the shared link in the project overview to open the form.

You have the option to extend the share period. The same costs apply as when creating a new shared link (please contact support for more information).

You can also generate a new password if you’ve lost the old one. Note: The “ Forgot Password?” function from the home page does not work for shares.
